This Is Awesome On So Many Levels...

So I got together with two English major friends of mine (who are also studying Education, like myself), and they showed me this clip of Catherine Tate and David Tennant in a comedy sketch. As an English major, future educator, and lover of all manner of science fiction (even the really cheesy stuff), this really just made my day. The British sure know their humor.

I'll have something more substantial soon. I'm deciding between a few topics and don't know in which way to post about them. Hope everyone's doing well!

Love it!

I love Dr Who although I will admit that I have a nostalgic preference for the '80s version.

Its hard to understand. I really wish the English would learn to speak English. ;)

The more you watch British shows, the more you get an ear for all the dialects. Years of watching Eastenders, Hollyoaks, and British sitcoms have made me able to sift through nearly any Brit accent.

Catherine and David later worked together on Doctor Who. Their season together is very good. Catherine is just a phenomenal actress.

I've been debating about whether to leave this. If you have the ability to appreciate English humor (and can tolerate a smidgen of vulgarity) search for "The Catherine Tate Show -- Did You Hear About Our John?" on youtube (it's the 9 minute one). Catherine is playing Cathleen, the Ulster Mom. (the actor playing John changes halfway through).

Plus, if you've watched a lot of her Lauren Cooper skits, the one where Lauren meets Tony Blair is pretty funny because he turns the tables on her.

i found the blog a few hours ago, and, well, like a good book, i cant stop reading. i read your last post, then your favorite posts, then started at the beginning and have read to here. i keep thinking, "wow i am so much like this guy." then i saw the post on empathy (like one or two before this) and i realized, "i'm much more like this guy." and now a lauren cooper video. i saw the video a little before (i think?) you originally posted this entry, and about 5 of my friends and i all quote all of them to each other, especially this one. but i couldnt keep reading without at least leaving a comment here. haha.
