Blog Renovation

Hey there! If you're reading this, then you probably noticed that I changed the template. I hope you like it. I thought I needed a change, and this background looks very...collegiate. I also added a bunch of links that I've been meaning to put up for a while. I don't agree with everyone I've linked to, but I want to make sure that people who come here have a variety of resources. The links are categorized, so here's a quick rundown:

Ex-gay/Ex-gay Friendly: Blogs and websites by Christians who are either celibate and gay (like me and Ron Belgau), or are no longer gay-identified at all (like Disputed Mutability and Randy Thomas). There are also blogs by Christians who, for one reason or another, have taken an interest in the whole Christian/gay/ex-gay world (like Angie, Grace, and Tin Man) even if they don't deal with SSA themselves.

Ex-ex-gay/Gay Christian: There aren't as many of these as I'd like, so if anyone has any good ideas for this category, please tell me.

Non Ex-gay Links: Just regular people who have commented on the blog before and whose blogs I think are cool. :-) These are just personal blogs; don't expect any reflections on gay or ex-gay issues.

Political Links: I love politics! These are my favorite pundits (like La Shawn Barber and Tammy Bruce) and resources for both conservative and liberal readers (like Townhall and Daily Kos). There's also some shameless gossip (Wonkette) which you can view at your own risk ;-)

If you find yourself linked here and you don't want to be, please let me know. Or, if you feel I categorized you incorrectly, please tell me where you'd rather be and I'll get right on that. Also, I don't know if a little blogger like me is allowed to link to the big-time bloggers like Daily Kos and Wonkette. So if I'm breaking any rules, please tell me (I'm a blogosphere newbie). Other than that, what do you think of the new template? I'm still taking callers on the Calvinist vs. Wesleyan post.

What about my eyes? My poor, unsuspecting eyes!

You may want to consider Ex-Gay Watch, which has some ex-ex-gay contributors and links to a variety of individuals with differing positions on the issues.

Sorry about your eyes. They'll get over it ;-)

I can't believe I left out XGW. Thanks for the tip, Irrational.

Thanks for the link! I never realized that you had linked to me...I just added you to my blogroll, as well.

Thanks for the link Jay.

What exactly is blog link etiquette? I feel bad now for adding most of my links without permission (and referring to your trademark hat as a Scone Bunnet).

I doubt if the megablogs check all of the "little blogs" who link to them. Wonkette! Content warning indeed. ;)

Thanks for the link, although technically I should be categorized under Ex-Ex Gay Christian Quaker Vegan

There's a lot of us out there

there's blog link etiquette? uh oh cuz i just linked to you w/o permission too!

Thanks for the link. I am just happy to know I fit a category.

Hey guys. No prob with the links! I feel bad that it took me so long to get around to them.

Hi Eric! Well, Disputed Mutability isn't celibate anymore, but she once was going down that road, so she's very supportive of it. Her posts are great, and she's just cool in general. :-) Eve Tushnet is also gay and celibate. I haven't found many others, though. Most, if they want to be categorized, fit into the "ex-gay" category, even if they're currently not dating/seeking a relationship.

Good to have you here; come back soon!

In the "Ex-ex-gay/Gay Christian" category, you might include the Gay Christian Network (http://www.gaychristian.net/). It's not a blog, it's an online community. And they do have a forum for gay and celibate members, as well. But they are predominantly in the "Ex-ex-gay/Gay Christian" category. Eric, Peterson, and I all post on GCN from time to time.

You might also link to GCN's "Great Debate (http://www.gaychristian.net/greatdebate.php?). This includes a long essay by GCN's founder and executive director defending gay marriage and an even longer essay by me defending celibacy. Both essays are written from a Christian perspective.

In Christ,

- Ron

Hey Ron. I already linked to GCN, but I'll put up a link to their great debate soon. Thanks for the tip.

Ron Belgau said...

Oh. Well. Yep, there's the link to GCN.

*looks embarrassed*

I don't know how I missed that, other than that it was very early in the morning when I posted the last time.

Anyhow, glad you liked the Great Debate tip.

In Christ,

- Ron

Thanks for the link, Jay. Now I need to stop being lazy and re-do my stuff since you and Grace are all on the ball and stuff!
